Do you ever say something in a conversation and then the subject gets changed before you get to elaborate on what you've said?

And then what you said is just out there, floating, unexplained, so the person you were talking to doesn't really understand what you meant?

And you want to bring it up again so you can make sense of it all and not sound like an idiot, but by bringing it up a second time you look like an idiot anyway?

Yeah.
